It is well recognised that access to specialist services in regional areas is limited and Dr Maxine has always provided needed services to regional communities in addition to her city based practices. Dr Maxine specifically travels to the Northern Rivers area to provide high standard evidence based Rheumatology services to people in Northern NSW with her well known professionalism, personability and thoroughness.

Dr Maxine recognises that fuel is expensive, there is a significant cost of travel and if people travel multiple hours to cities to see specialists, they may lose a day or 2 of time as well (with potential impact on income) in addition to the costs of petrol, potentially flights, accommodation and food.
Dr Maxine travels to Ballina from the Gold Coast weekly to provide accessible high quality Rheumatology services to people in that area, to save them travelling to either Sydney, the Gold Coast or Brisbane.​​

Dr Maxine provides an outreach clinic in Ballina for the Northern Rivers Area. Travel and accessibility to clinics can at times be challenging.
Dr Maxine appreciates this and offers video telehealth consultations where needed and there is no interference with the quality of health care.

Please note that Dr Maxine does not conduct her medicine by telephone appointments and video connection is needed for these consultations, unless there are emergencies.
An in-person visit is required for the first consultation and usually the first few consultations whilst an assessment is being conducted. In person medicine remains the gold standard best care for your health care and telehealth appointment suitability for your health care will be discerned by Dr Maxine.
